The CFTW Leadership and Innovation Skill Assessment® is the only instrument on the market that does not rely on self-report or personality profiling. Based on a decade of National Science Foundation-funded research, LISA directly measures the ability to apply leadership and innovation skills to real world challenges.
What is The CFTW Leadership and Innovation Skill Assessment?
A 30-minute digital activity test that measures your ability to apply 15 key leadership and innovation skills to real world challenges.
What makes this instrument better?
Unlike other leadership assessments in the market, LISA gives you a comprehensive picture of skill development that does not rely on either self-reporting or personality-based profiling.
How does LISA work?
The assessment is a science-based instrument, based on a decade of National Science Foundation-funded Art of Science Learning research. Users are immersed in five different innovation challenge scenarios. Their choices generate 91 performance measures, which are synthesized into 15 scores, creating a comprehensive picture of skill development.
What does LISA measure?
The instrument measures the four foundational skills of innovation:
Specific measures include openness to diverse perspectives, behavioral empathy, resilience, team leadership, adaptability, idea range, opportunity recognition, problem solving, curiosity and inquiry, tolerance for uncertainty and decision-making.
What will I get?
Within minutes of completing the assessment, you will receive a detailed 20-page report with your scores and actionable developmental recommendations. The package includes a one-hour review with one of our Certified Innovation Coaches to help you understand the report and the picture that emerges from it
Leonardo da Vinci, perhaps the most original innovator in human history, once said “Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.”
Leonardo’s work demonstrates how together, art, science and the imagination can spark innovations that change the world.
Leonardo was a primary inspiration behind the CFTW Leadership and Innovation Skill Assessment, which we often refer to as LISA.

Upon receipt of payment, you will be contacted by one of our CFTW Certified Innovation Coaches who will send you a link to access the assessment. Upon completion of the assessment, you will be contacted again to schedule delivery of the report and your one-on-one review.

On October 23rd,

This is the third year of Art of Science Learning's international collaboration with Instituto Oswaldo Cruz of the Brazilian National Health Authority. In 2023, Harvey Seifter and his colleague Todd Siler traveled to Rio de Janeiro to launch an AOSL Incubator for Healthcare Innovation, which used arts-based experiential learning to help advance vital new innovations in public health and to strengthen the innovative skills of its cross disciplinary innovation teams. Several innovations growing out of the incubator have now gone successfully to market, and the project won Brazil's prestigious 2024 Convergence Award for Innovation Learning. Next year, the Incubator will be featured in Eric McNulty's upcoming book "Communities of Leading: Building the World we Need and Deserve" published my MIT Press

Harvey Seifter and a small group of teaching artists brought a two-day Art of Science Learning "Advancing Innovation" Program to 80 faculty members at the School of Nursing at the University of Texas Medical Branch campus in Galveston. Participants told us that the workshops provided them with "tools for developing and refining ideas", helped them "enhance student learning through different approaches to teaching" and "created opportunities to engage and connect with colleagues in a more meaningful way."

The Art of High Performance Caregiving is a groundbreaking new leadership development program for frontline caregivers we developed in partnership with Esteam Health.
Pre-post data from pilots shows striking correlations between participation in the program and increased:
Openness to New Information and Diverse Perspectives, Curiosity and Inquiry, Tolerance for Uncertainty, Cognitive Agility, Idea Range, Behavioral Flexibility, Resilience, Collaboration, Behavioral Empathy, Team Leadership, Innovation, Problem Solving and Decision Making.
In December 2024, we completed our final round of pilots at Retreat Healthcare in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Esteam will bring the program to market in January 2026.

Harvey spent a week in residency at Florida State University, hosted by the FSU College of Business and its Center for Human Resource Management. While there, he led a half-day workshop for local entrepreneurs, innovators and community leaders at the Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship; a roundtable discussion at the FSU Innovation Hub; and spent a day at the National High Magnetic Lab. He also gave an interactive guest lecture about social innovation to MBA students titled "Thinking with Hands" (see above).
